Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE) welcomes the recommendation for long term access to UHF spectrum for Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT), but is concerned by the possible displacement of DTT from the 700 MHz Band.
BNE has actively participated in the High Level Group to ensure the future of the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) platform to European consumers and the audio-visual sector. BNE is pleased that the report by the Chairman of the High level Group, Mr Pascal Lamy, recognizes the key role of DTT in the European audiovisual landscape based on a thorough analysis both of current audiovisual and mobile services and future trends.
