BNE’s response on the RSPG Questionnaire on Long-term vision for the upper 6 GHz band.

Broadcast Networks Europe (BNE) is pleased to participate in the consultation process and provide insights on the RSPG questionnaire regarding the long-term vision for the upper 6 GHz band.

It is a known fact that BNE members rely heavily on the upper 6 GHz band for critical functions, including long-range fixed links in the backhaul network, transport and distribution, for redundancy and when fibers are not feasible. Given the importance of these usages, our response focuses on Point B: Questions directed to the stakeholders providing incumbent services in the upper 6 GHz band.

We believe that any decisions concerning the future use of this band must carefully consider existing usages, impacts on current services, investments made, and the need for compensation mechanisms. Furthermore, it is essential that robust protection measures are clearly defined and explicitly included in any future plans.
